#100DaysOfThoseDays – Peanut Butter

Day 6 #100DaysOfThoseDays

Today is National Peanut Butter Lovers Day in the US

I’m definitely in this group. Lucy is definitely NOT in this group. She’s allergic to most varieties of nuts. So, I have to keep my jar of peanut butter well away from other foods.

I’d say it was the early 80s when we were first introduced to peanut butter in our house. I never had it in primary school but I do remember having it in secondary school.

My favourite memory of eating peanut butter sandwiches was when I was about 15. Every Saturday I picked mushrooms for our local mushroom farmer Winston Turner, and every week I brought peanut butter sandwiches for lunch. By lunchtime we’d all be starving and those warm flattened peanut butter sandwiches were Heavenly.

I always preferred the crunchy peanut butter back in those days, but these days I go for smooth. I take it every morning mixed through my porridge, with a drizzle of heather honey, and topped with yogurt. Try it sometime.

Thank you for reading!

I enjoy writing about times gone by. My daily posts are written off the cuff and just for fun.

My novel Secrets in the Babby House is of a more serious nature and took more time and effort to put together. If you enjoy the jist of my writing you might enjoy reading my novel.

A story of love, deception, and stolen diaries filled with sins and secrets. Set in a gossipy small town in Ireland at a time when marriage is for keeps and sexuality is repressed, Secrets in the Babby House is a family saga over three decades that starts in 1956.
