We are big fans of board games in this family, and not only at Christmas. When my adult kids come to visit at weekends, we usually spend the evenings playing cards or board games.
These days the big favourite is FRUSTRATION. It’s so much fun and it really does live up to its name. The latest version has a new addition; a genie.
There’s two dice in the center; the usual numbers dice and the other one with two pictures of the genie. If you flip the green genie you get to keep him in your base, but if you flip the orange genie you have to return him to the center. While you have the genie in your possession, another player can’t land on your counter, meaning they can’t put you back to the start. When another player flips the genie, they get to steal it from you.
It looks like a kid’s game (well it is) but I’m telling you… it’s for everyone!
It’s lighthearted and fun and that’s why I love it.

UNO is one of our favourite card games. Switch is very similar to UNO and it’s played with ordinary playing cards. Such an unpredictable game!
Monopoly was a big favourite for many years but it goes on far too long so it gets boring, but we sometimes play Monopoly Cards; an easier and quicker version of the game.
Rummikub is another favourite but it can be slow-paced. It depends on the players. I’m slow at Rummikub because it involves numbers and a little strategy. Not my strong point.

Thank you for reading!
