Judge a Book by its Cover 12 – #TuesdayBookBlog

For several reasons, I’ve chosen this beauty to talk about on today’s Judge a Book by its Cover. I visited London recently where I devoured the magnificence of Big Ben, so its image never fails to charm me. But of course, there’s much more to this book cover.

It’s a beautiful cover, it’s powerful, it’s sexy, it’s atmospheric, and it’s one of my favourites so far in my series of Judge a Book by its Cover.

I’m expecting the 1800s here. Sherlock Holmes and Jekyll & Hyde come to mind… both of which I love. The soft pink against the black gives me sweetness combined with the darkness. There’s an urgency in this image too. The woman’s face is very intriguing and secretive. That’s a bizarre mask she’s wearing!

The Petticoat Society by Jason Prugar was published only yesterday and has yet to gain reviews on Amazon and Goodreads.

The Blurb

Inspector Nigel Barrington, armed with wit, determination, and an arsenal of inventive gadgets, manages to arrest the infamous Spring-Heeled Jack.

When the mask comes off, revealing a shocking identity, Nigel finds himself entangled in a web of aristocratic intrigue and sinister machinations. Young women are dying, and Spring-Heeled Jack is not the only monster on the loose. As Barrington delves deeper, he encounters an unexpected ally: The Petticoat Society, a clandestine group of women fighting injustice with their own brand of ingenuity.

The Petticoat Society blends the charm of Sherlock Holmes with the inventive spirit of steampunk. Prepare to be transported to a world where science meets superstition, women refuse to stand idly by, and where one man’s quest for justice might just change the course of history.

The blurb is quite promising if you like detectives (Sherlock Holmes), a bit of steampunk and science fiction. If you enjoy London in the 1800s, then this might be for you. Have a look through the sample pages provided by Amazon (below) and get a taste of what this book has to offer.

I’ve added it to my TBR pile!

Thank you for reading. Have a nice day!
