Favourite Topic Talks

Daily writing prompt
What topics do you like to discuss?

I enjoy talking about religion—not to promote my own beliefs, but because I’m genuinely interested in hearing how others practice their faith.

I love talking about life after death. I like listening to other people’s opinions about it. Although some people’s views on the subject freak me out a bit.

Talking about books is more enjoyable than death and religion. Our book club discussions are my favourite. It’s interesting how subjective books are. One person might find our book choice of the month boring, while another would find it a real page-turner. There has never been a book discussed that everyone loved or hated – the opinions are usually mixed.

My other favourite topic is writing. I mostly have these discussions with myself, though, unless online in forums or on social media!

And of course…. I’ll talk about any other mad stuff that crops up. It’s all research at the end of the day!

Judge a Book by its Cover 16 – #TuesdayBookBlog

For today’s Judge a Book by its Cover post I’ve chosen Obedience by Nichole M Willden.

The colour choices make this a very striking cover.

A black cover conveys a message of darkness. Badness and power are two of the first things that come to my mind. The flash of red signifies danger.

Good Morning

What’s your favorite time of day?

Morning is my favourite time of day, and the older I get, the more I like it.

It’s when I get to drink coffee and write without distractions.

I’m more productive in the mornings so it’s when I get most of my writing done. This morning I plan to work on a short story that I’m writing for my newsletter subscribers.

I don’t usually spend my Sundays writing, but the weather is quite miserable today (like every other day in Ireland) and I have no plans to go anywhere.

I’m not sure if I’ll get the story finished today because I’ve been struggling with it. Sometimes I’m inclined to over complicate things in short stories, which is a problem, because the edits take longer. This one is particularly troublesome. I’ll get there. I usually do in the end!
