Story Chat is back!

Story Chat is a place on Marsha Ingrao’s blog–Always Write–where a different author every month shares their short story while readers come together to chat about the story. This is year three of Story Chat and the big change this year is that there’s two authors/two stories per month instead of one!

Story Chat is part writers group, part beta readers, part fun fiction, and wholly enjoyable! It runs from October to September. Learn more HERE.

First up this year is Hugh W. Roberts with his story called ‘You’re it.’

Forest Fairies – #ThursdayDoors

A colourful collection of doors today from Belleek Forest here in Ballina, Co Mayo.

These wonderful little fairy doors were first made a few years ago by the members of The Men’s Shed, and I see that they’ve repaired some that had gotten weather beaten, and they’ve also added some new ones.

The fairy doors are a popular attraction in the forest for people of all ages. Every time I walk this path, I feel a bit childlike. I keep my eyes peeled and I listen hard… well, you just never know!

From Esmeralda – #ThursdayDoors

My friend, Esmeralda, sent me these doors from her trip to Venice. She thought I might like to include them in one of my Thursday Doors post. And why not? These rustic doors could tell a tale or two!

It’s interesting how I first met Esmeralda. I wrote a blog post about it a few years ago. See here! You’ll want to meet her for real… so you will!

Cannonball Supercars – #ThursdayDoors

A different type of doors post from me today. 2023 Cannonball Ireland passed through Ballina last Saturday.

I’m not mad into cars to be honest – I wouldn’t know the difference between a Lamborghini and a Ferrari. I drive a Hyundai i20 and that’s amazing enough for me.

But I do like looking at them! Thanks to Google Lens, I was able to put names to these supercars. Do I fully trust Google Lens? Mmm…

Hopefully some of you Thursday-Doors fans will appreciate these pics.

Cannonball Ireland has so far raised €1,538,602 for Irish charities. This year’s official charity is The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.
