All is Well #SoCS

This post is part of Linda G Hill’s

Stream of Consciousness Saturday #SoCS

This week’s prompt is “day/week/month/year.

All through the pandemic I’ve called on my favourite quote of all time. I bought this little framed quote many years ago; I can’t even remember where. It was at a time when I thought nothing would ever be well again.

“Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday and all is well.”

I treasure this little picture!

Wimp #SoCS

This post is part of Linda G Hill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday #SoCS.

I’ve never published a post without editing it first. The perfectionist in me cringes at the thought. But I know sometimes I should just relax and have more fun with the blog, because that’s the reason I started this particular one in the first place. Soooo……I decided that taking part in Linda G Hill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday would be excellent practice for me.

The prompt this week is one word; Nerve

Wimp

If I had the nerve, I would go scuba diving. To swim in the ocean with sea life must be one of the most amazing experiences in the world.

If I had the nerve, I would put on a parachute and jump from a plane. Flying without wings!

If I had the nerve, I would train to be an astronaut and visit the moon.

The thoughts of doing any of these things make me quiver. I’m such a wimp!

Colder Than Ice

Today I’m taking part in February 15 Flash Fiction Challenge for Charli over at Carrot Ranch. The prompt is; In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story on ice.

Romantic notions in a young maidens head,

Seeking out her kindred spirit, gullible and blithe.

She watched the man across the room, eyes met,

Her’s green like precious emeralds, his were icy blue.

So began his obsession, his something new,

A faithful damsel to fuel his insolence.

He stole her soul and beat it down,

She became a prisoner in his petulant world.

Two thousand days of torment and suffering

In the heavy hands of a furious man.

Void of compassion, frost in his veins,

His heart was colder than ice.

Freedom for the maiden came with a price!
