My New Old Coat #100DaysOfOldDays

Day 77 #100DaysOfOldDays

A short and sweet post today. (No typo excuses🧐)

This is my mam’s 55-year-old vintage coat. Her Aunt Teresa brought it home to her from England in the late 1960’s. I didn’t know until a few days ago that she still had it. She probably kept it because it’s red; her favourite colour.

Well, it’s mine now and it fits me just fine. Thanks Mammy; I love it! I’m looking forward to wearing it next winter!

A couple of buttons got lost along the way so I just need to find new ones.

“I probably took them off to put them on something else,” Mam said.

I excused Lucy from drawing today. She’s busy making jewellery for charity.

      • That is a great idea – or your could change them up a little if needed – hmmmm
Either way – that coat is special beee if the history and it is chic.
I have red jacket that i wear only around December – go holiday vibes – it is a light weight thigh-length button up – thin but heavy enough for not too cold of days – (wear down jackets for the color days) but I have had for maybe six years now and love the option when I’m the mood for red – add a a nice scarf and works well,..

      • Yes, I was thinking about a change of colour for the buttons. Red is nice at Christmas and it’s a warm cheerful colour. The one you describe sounds very like one I had for years, but it got very tatty!

      • I almost got rid of mine because you know how you go to the closet and don’t want to hoard – and well, I have this one in a smaller second closet (ha) but because it is not yet tatty – and because I do wear it at least once every November/December – it is worth the hanger space –
