What is a word you feel that too many people use?
‘Hun.’ I can’t stand this new word. I cringe when I get called Hun. STOP!
Where did it come from anyway? Is it short for honey?
“Hey, Hun (Honey), let’s talk about it.”
Call me Honey if you like because I can be quite sweet when the mood takes me, but I’ll never be anyone’s hun!
I like today’s prompt because I’ve always wanted to have a rant about that awful word!

I’m not sure when it became a thing, but my mother was using it toward my father in the 1950s.

Honey was a common name of affection down the years, and I have often heard people say Hun for short…in that context.
But the Hun we hear these days is a constant thing. All over FB for example.
“What’s up Hun”?
“Nice pic Hun”.
“Sorry to hear that Hun”.
It’s not used affectionately like years ago, just annoyingly. 😆😆

Yes, that (and so many other things on Facebook) are annoying.
