This week I’m helping to promote a wonderful book, Story Chat Online Literary Conversations: Series of Short Stories and Ruminations.

The History Behind the Book

Story Chat is a unique online writing programme where several authors submit their short stories for publication on alwayswrite.blog. A community of bloggers and story lovers come together to read the monthly stories and offer constructive feedback to the authors. Not only do they chat with the authors, but to each other as well. They don’t always agree on certain aspects of the story, which makes it all the more fun and interesting.

When a story is read through several pairs of eyes, certain aspects of the story might have several different meanings. I tell you this for nothing; some readers can almost see into the souls of the fictional characters! Some like to assume (me included) what the authors were thinking as they weaved their stories and chased their characters through their minds. It’s great fun!

So, Marsha Ingrao has taken these stories and put them together, along with some of the comments made by the Story Chat participants, to create this fabulous and unique book!

What Kind of Stories?

Something for everyone! Some of the stories are fun to read, with open and surprise endings. Others cover relevant topics like dementia, bullying, nursing-home care, social services, PSTD, life after prison, changing jobs, dealing with children, and medical miracles.

These 3-5 minute stories are entertaining, but when read with intention you’ll find that some of them have hidden meanings and lessons to be learned! Intriguing? Yes!
