Blog Tour – Day Four. Story Chat – Short Stories and Ruminations

This is day four of my blog tour; helping to promote the recently published book, Story Chat Online Literary Conversations: Series of Short Stories and Ruminations.

Read the story behind Story Chat Online Literary Conversations here Day One – Day TwoDay Three

A quick recap;

Marsha Ingrao has taken the stories from her annual online writing programme, Story Chat, and put them together, along with some of the comments made by the Story Chat participants, to create this fabulous and unique book!

The fun part is often the chatting that happens in the comments. Some readers simply express how much they loved the story. Others delve more deeply. They analyse every detail, pose questions to the author, or offer well-received feedback to the author.

So far this week, I’ve talked about some of the contributing authors; Marsha Ingrao, Hugh Roberts, Geoff le Pard, and Gary Wilson.

Today I’d like to mention Anne Goodwin whose story is titled, ‘A Postcard From the Past.’ It’s story about identity and making choices. Anne is the author of six novels, that cover a variety of themes such as; psychological suspense, mental health, social justice, identity, LGBTQ, and there is also some humour to be found in Anne’s writings. Check her out on her blog, Anne Goodwin Author.

Debbie Harris kicked off the blog tour on November the 15th. You can read her post HERE! Debbie’s Story Chat story is titled ‘The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree.‘ It’s a mysterious little story that leaves the readers with many questions and possibilities! One reader suggested in the comments that ‘The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree‘ could be the bones of a novel. I agree. What kind of society did this nameless woman come from? I’d love to know more.

Philip Cumberland’s story ‘Not a Proper Job’ is one I remember enjoying very much. The main character, Sheila, reminded me of Villanelle, who is a ruthless assassin in British spy thriller TV series, Killing Eve.

Since retiring, Philip has joined his local University of the Third Age branch (U3A). One of the groups he belongs to is Whittlesey Wordsmiths, a creative writing group. Together as a group, they have published several anthologies of their work. Read more about Philip over on Fanlandphil.

That’s it from me today. I hope to continue with the blog tour tomorrow and talk some more about the authors of Story Chat online Literary Conversations.

Thank you for reading, and please share on social media if you have a minute or two to spare!

  2. Wow, it’s been a year since our last book came out, and somehow I miss all these wonderful recaps. I’m glad they appeared at the bottom of your post for this year. I’ll include some of these links as well on my posts. Thanks for all your hard work and support, my friend.
